Israel Crisis Response

On October 7, 2023, during the holidays of Shmini Atzeret and Simchat Torah, Hamas terrorists launched an unprecedented attack on Israel from Gaza, firing thousands of rockets, breaching the country’s borders, with significant numbers killed, hospitalized, and taken hostage. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel was at war to defend itself and gave the order for the IDF to commence "Operation Swords of Iron.”

In moments like this, Jewish Federations are there. We’re working with our partners on the ground to to support victims of terror, help rebuild damaged infrastructure, and address the unprecedent levels of trauma caused by this horrific attack - and we need your help.

Israel will prevail and the Jewish people will stand together as we always do. Am Yisrael Chai

KJA Israel Crisis Fund

JFNA is in close contact with our partners on the ground, the Jewish Agency for Israel, the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, and the Israel Trauma Coalition, as they prepare to provide the critical care and support to those affected. An emergency fundraising effort has launched. The Knoxville Jewish Alliance has opened a local fund that will be sent directly to our partner agencies in Israel.
